Below is a personal Family History Video that I produced after restoring and digitizing thousands of feet of 8mm movie film and hundreds of 35mm slides taken by my father and grandfather in the 1950s and 1960s. The film was brittle and moldy; the emulsion was embedded with a fungus, and the delicate memories needed to be rescued for at least another 50-60 years. The trailer is a small sample of the full feature which is 31 minutes long.

Don, let me tell you how much I appreciate all the great work you did for the Perkins family this year. The video brought both laughter and tears to many members of our group. I’m so glad that you were thinking about my father and suggested we include pictures of him for the video. Just to let you know, I think he was at the Cape with us on this special day anyway…at least in spirit.) Your work was creative and very professional right down to the way the discs were packaged. I just had to write and thank you for being so thoughtful by giving each of us a DVD of the family video that you made. I was visiting my Dad when he gave me my copy – Alan happened to be there as well and had already seen his copy. He said “oh Tina wait until you see the picture of Dad in the pool -he looks 16 years old!” So, I was excited to see some pictures or slides I had maybe never seen before. Well, when I got home and put it on I couldn’t believe my eyes. I wasn’t expecting to see a moving picture at all so I was literally stunned. When the “Trip to Virginia” segment came on and my Mom was waving, I burst into tears. (happy ones) It was so great to see her and everyone so happy and young and healthy! I wasn’t even sure it was me at Dickie’s 3rd birthday having never seen myself in a movie before but of course I knew and remembered what everyone else looked like at that age. I think I’ve watched it a hundred times. I can’t even express in words how grateful I am that you gave us this treasure.
