Watch Soccer Goal Scored Directly From Corner-Kick

Luck and positioning enabled me to capture on video a goal scored directly from a corner-kick by my granddaughter, Sarah Duval, an 8th grade Defender who moved in to kick it for the Oakmont Regional High School JV Soccer Team in their game against Westborough High School JV’s on October 14, 2023.

Massachusetts Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program

The 2023 Massachusetts Youth Soccer Girls 2010 Team traveled to Barcelona, Spain organized by WorldStrides Sports, to play three International Friendly Games, of which they won all three. Below is a link to a video entered into a contest sponsored by Dick’s Sporting Goods called “Hit Us With Your Best Shot”. Although this video did not win the contest, it highlights an added experience unanticipated by these Under-13 girls:

Some College Athletic Coaches ask Prospective HIgh School Athletes to fill out information forms about themselves regarding Academic and Athletic Achievements and may even ask for a website, or a video URL of the Athlete to get a better understanding of the skills and character of the individual.  Here is a simple example of a way to highlight an athlete’s abilities with a Raw Un-Edited Skills Session Video to submit to a college coach or recruiter.

Don Freda has a unique perspective as a long-time film and video producer and high school athletics coach.  He combines his expertise as a film-maker with his expertise as a high school coach of three different sports spanning 44 years.  He has coached for 103 seasons throughout his career, serving as Assistant Coach and as Varsity Head Coach in Soccer, Basketball, and Baseball. He has been a member on 8 different Massachusetts State Championship teams over his career as a player, assistant coach, and head coach.

Now as a retired player and coach, he is staying in the game by producing video content to assist coaches and teams with athletic training video projects, and high school athletes who want to advance their playing careers to the next level in college.

Don Freda understands athletics and understands film-making. He knows how to combine the two to produce professional video content to help propel you to the next level.

High School Athlete – College Prospect Recruiting Videos

FREDA FILMS  provides a way to introduce yourself to a college athletic coach who may not get an opportunity in person to watch you participate in your sport.  We can produce a short video for you to easily introduce yourself to a college coach.  Too many times we hear of college coaches who have stacks of VHS tapes and DVD’s collecting dust because they haven’t had time to watch them.  By sending them an email message and attaching a professionally produced video with a YouTube Link of yourself, how easy might it be for that coach to simply click on the link to watch a short highlight of your abilities?  Convenience. No need to set up a VCR or DVD/Blu-ray player to watch your video. Include your video link within an email message directly to the college coach introducing yourself and indicating your desire to try out for their athletic program – whatever the sport or activity may be.   Produce a video by the end of your Junior Year in High School and have it ready before your Senior Year begins to send to college coaches introducing yourself and inviting them to see you play in attendance during, what could be, the best year of your career.

Leominster High School Blue Devils – Pre-Season Baseball Team Preparation

Produced by Don Freda, FREDA FILMS

This video illustrates the pre-season preparation of the Leominster High School Varsity Baseball Program for their 2016 Season.

After I retired in 2015 from 40 years of coaching baseball – 36 years at Leominster High School in Leominster, Massachusetts – I produced this video as a parting gift to the players and coaches I worked with as a reminder to them of how hard they prepare day in, and day out, and how they represent the long history and success of Leominster High School Blue Devil Baseball.
